RESOLUTION NO. 76-04
COUNCIL OF THE CHEROKEE NATION
A Resolution Confirming the Nomination of Ed Henshaw as a Member of the
Cherokee Nation Environmental Protection Commission
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Commission was created and authorized by Title 63 Section 101 of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated (CNCA);
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to appoint the members of the Commission subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation;
WHEREAS, Ed Henshaw's term expires August 2004 as a Member of the Environmental Protection Commission in accordance with Resolution 59-01 and is nominated for reappointment as authorized by Title 63, Section 101 of the CNCA; and
WHEREAS, Ed Henshaw is duly qualified to fill this vacancy pursuant to the ?101 (A) Cherokee Nation Code Annotated.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Ed Henshaw is hereby confirmed as a Commissioner of the Cherokee Nation Environmental Protection Commission for a term of three years from August 2004, to August 2007.

The foregoing resolution was adopted by the Council of the Cherokee Nation at a duly called meeting on the 16 day of August , 2004, having 15 members
present, constituting a quorum, by the vote of 15 yeas; 0 nays; 0 abstaining.
