A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE NOMINATION OF LYLE BURRIS AS A BOARD MEMBER OF CHEROKEE NATION ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS BOARD

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Administrative Appeals Board was created and authorized by Legislative Act 12-96;
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief, as representative of the Cherokee Nation, is authorized to select the members of the Board of Directors subject to a majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation;
WHEREAS, Lyle Burris is duly qualified and should be appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Cherokee Nation Administrative Appeals Board.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Lyle Burris is hereby confirmed as a Member of the Administrative Appeals Board for a term that expires October 2015, as authorized by Legislative Act 12-96.
