A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF SURPLUS EQUIPMENT TO KENWOOD WATER DISTRICT
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation desires to assist in providing a source of clean drinking water to our communities;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has a unique relationship with Kenwood Water District in that the system is located primarily on Tribal Trust property and serves a nearly 100% Cherokee population
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has the following items currently located in Bull Hollow, OK, in its possession equipment that has been deemed surplus, namely:
1. John Deere 310D Backhoe Serial # TO310DA813095
WHEREAS, Kenwood Water District is a non-profit rural water district that provides water to the Citizens of Kenwood, OK,
WHEREAS, Kenwood Water District desires to obtain a backhoe in order to become more self-reliant in the operation of their district.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council hereby authorizes Cherokee Nation Engineering and Sanitation Facilities Construction Program to donate the surplus equipment to Kenwood Water District, namely:
1. John Deere 310D Backhoe Serial # TO310DA813095
