Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
      
WHEREAS, Title 23 United States Code provides for tribal determination of its own needs and priorities for the allocation of Federal Highway Indian Reservation Road (IRR) funding;
 
WHEREAS, the implementing regulations promulgated in 25 CFR Part 170 provides for the documentation of Indian Reservation Roads and other eligible facilities through a long-range transportation plan;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has conducted extensive research to document its transportation needs and in doing so has adopted a long-range transportation plan of Indian Reservation Roads and other eligible facilities.
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that this resolution hereby affirms the adopted long-range transportation plan and authorizes the BIA to update the Nation's IRR inventory to include the following Indian Reservation Roads as follows:
