WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
 
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Property Management, LLC, a division of Cherokee Nation Businesses, a wholly owned entity of Cherokee Nation, has acquired property in Cherokee County, Oklahoma, more particularly described as follows:
 
A TRACT OF LAND IN THE SE4 AND THE S2 S2 NE4 OF SECTION 9,
TOWNSHIP 16 NORTH, RANGE 22 EAST, I.B.&M., CHEROKEE COUNTY, OKLAHOMA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS, TO-WIT:

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation desires to have said property placed United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation.  The property is vacant;
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of Cherokee Nation, Bill John Baker, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to request the Secretary of the Interior to place said tract of land United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affairs policy and procedure for the acquisition of land.
