A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE NOMINATION OF EVAN M. MCLEMORE AS A BOARD MEMBER OF CHEROKEE NATION ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS BOARD

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Administrative Appeals Board was created and authorized by Legislative Act 12-96;

WHEREAS, the Principal Chief, as representative of the Cherokee Nation, is authorized to select the members of the Board of Directors subject to a majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation;

WHEREAS, The Board Member occupying seat three (3) of the Cherokee Nation Administrative Appeals board resigned leaving a vacancy;

WHEREAS, Evan M. McLemore is duly qualified to fill this vacancy and has been selected by the Principal Chief Pursuant to Legislative Act 12-96.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION; that Evan M. McLemore is hereby confirmed as a Member of the Cherokee Nation Administrative Appeals Board, with a term beginning June 13, 2016 and ending September 30, 2017.
