A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE NOMINATION OF TOM HERRIAN AS A GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION COMPREHENSIVE CARE AGENCY

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Comprehensive Care Agency was created and authorized as a Tribal Agency by Article VI, Section 7 of the Constitution of the Cherokee Nation and Legislative Act #3-04;

WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized by Section 5.E. of LA#3-04 to select the members of the Board subject to confirmation by majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation;

WHEREAS, Tom Herrian is duly qualified to fill this seat and has been selected by the Principal Chief.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Tom Herrian is hereby confirmed as a Governing Board Member of the Cherokee Nation Comprehensive Care Agency for a term of three years, commencing April 2007 until April 2010.
