A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHEROKEE NATION TO OBTAIN BUFFALO MEAT THROUGH THE INTERTRIBAL BUFFALO COUNCIL FROM THE BADLANDS IN SOUTH DAKOTA
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation engages in numerous agricultural endeavors and is desirous of expanding activities within this field for the betterment of the Cherokee Nation and its Citizens; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a working member in the InterTribal Buffalo Council (ITBC) is taking necessary steps for the development and required expertise needed for successful American Bison husbandry; and
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation can obtain buffalo meat through the InterTribal Buffalo Council from the Bad Lands in South Dakota; and, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Cherokee Nation is hereby authorized to obtain buffalo meat through the InterTribal Buffalo Council from the Bad Lands in South Dakota.
