A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FUNDING OF CHEROKEE NATION HOME HEALTH SERVICES, INC. LIFE CARE PROGRAM FOR THE AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation recognizes the extra ordinary health care needs of its citizens caused either by disease process or by life hazards:
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Home Health Services, Inc. has the unique ablility to provide life enhancing home health services in the home environment in a cost effective manner.
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation desires to provide for home health care through Cherokee Nation Home Health Services, Inc. Life Care Program.
NOW THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Cherokee Nation Council hereby fully supports the efforts of Cherokee Nation Home Health Services, Inc. to provide for the unmet needs of its citizens who have life threatening illnesses or injury.
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Cherokee Nation desires to fund Life Care services to be administered by Cherokee Nation Home Health Services, Inc. in the amout of two hundred fifty thousand dollars for fiscal year 2012.
