A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHEROKEE NATION TO LEASE TRUST LAND TO SALINA-SPAVINAW TELEPHONE COMPANY, INC.

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the lease for Salina-Spavinaw Telephone Co., Inc. will expire July 31, 2009, therefore Salina-Spavinaw Telephone Co., Inc. has requested a lease for twenty-five years, located at Kenwood, Oklahoma, Delaware County, containing .04 acres with a 10' x 12' concrete building for housing and operation of telephone equipment.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council, in order to improve efficiency, authorizes a lease on this trust unit to Salina-Spavinaw Telephone Co., Inc. with appraisal waived and that Chad Smith, Principal Chief (or his designee) be authorized to negotiate and execute all official matters in this regard.
