A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REIMBURSEMENT FOR NON-FUNDED AND UNDER-FUNDED HOME CARE SERVICES PROVIDED TO CHEROKEE CITIZENS BY CHEROKEE NATION HOME HEALTH SERVICES, INC.

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has established, operated and provided home health care services to the Cherokee people since 1981;
WHEREAS, home health care has been shown to be an effective and efficient manner of providing home nursing and related services to individuals and particulary the elderly;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation desires to reimburse Cherokee Nation Home Health for skilled nursing, Physical and Occupational therapy, and hospice services delivered to non-funded and under-funded Cherokee citizens.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Cherokee Nation hereby reimburses Cherokee Nation Home Health Services, Inc. for non-funded or under-funded home care services provided to 174 Cherokee citizens in the amount of $264,238.
