A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REQUEST AND ACCEPTANCE OF LAND - CLAREMORE FEDERAL BUILDING
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;  
 
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation hereby officially requests the Secretary of the Interior, Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, to transfer a 0.32 acre of land located in Claremore, Oklahoma at 118-120 S. Missouri Street, known as Claremore Federal Building, without compensation, to be held for Cherokee Nation, more particularly described as follows:
 
Southerly 95 feet 9 inches of the Westerly 5 feet of Lot 12 and Southerly 95 feet 91/2 inches of Lots 13, 14, and 15 all in Block 113, Claremore OT,  in Section 09, Township 21 North, Range 16 East, Rogers County, I.B.&M., Oklahoma.   
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation desires to have said property transferred to Cherokee Nation.
 
      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chadwick Smith, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to request of and accept from the Secretary of Interior said tract of land in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affair's policy and procedure for the acquisition of land.
