Title
AN ACT AMENDING LA #25-01, THE CHEROKEE NATION "FREEDOM OF
INFORMATION AND RIGHTS OF PRIVACY ACT OF 2001" TO MAKE TECHNICAL
CORRECTIONS; ADDING NEW ITEMS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

BE IT ENACTED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION:
Section L Title.
This act shall be known as the "Freedom of Information and Rights of Privacy Amendments Act of 2004."
Section 2. Purpose.
The purpose of this Act is to make certain technical and substantive amendments to Legislative Act #25-01, the Cherokee Nation "Freedom of Information and Rights of Privacy Act of 2001", including an amendment to authorize informal legislative conferences between the Principal Chief and the Tribal Council and making certain provisions for such meetings.
Section 3. Amendments to the Freedom of Information and Rights of Privacy Act.
A. Section 75-1-10(E) is hereby moved to next section ? Section 75-1-10(F).
B. New Section 75-1-10(E) is hereby added to read in full as:
Informal legislative conferences between the Principal Chief and the Council of the Cherokee Nation are authorized, provided that the date, time and place of such meetings are posted at least ten (10) days in advance of such meetings. No formal action shall be taken at these conferences. Such conferences are open to the public unless closed pursuant to Section 75-1-9 of this Act.
Section 4. Provisions as cumulative
The provisions of this act shall be cumulative to existing law. Section 5. Severability
The provisions of this act are severable and if any part of provision hereof shall be held void the decision of the court so holding shall not affect or impair any of the remaining parts or provisions of this act.
