A RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING LYNDON EMBERTON TO THE CITIZEN COMMITTEE ON COMPENSATION
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, Legislative Act 40-07 as amended by Legislative Acts 05-11, 10-12, 01-15 and 50-21 calls upon the Council of the Cherokee Nation to appoint two (2) members to a citizen committee, who together with other opportunities, will recommend salaries for elected officials of the Cherokee Nation; and,
WHEREAS, Lyndon Emberton is a Cherokee citizen with excellent qualifications and has ethical standards; and,
WHEREAS, the Council of the Cherokee Nation and the Cherokee Nation as a whole would benefit from the reappointment of someone of such high qualifications to this position.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Cherokee Nation, that Lyndon Emberton be reappointed to the Citizen Committee on Compensation in accordance with Legislative Act 40-07 as amended by Legislative Acts 05-11, 10-12, 01-15 and 50-21.
