A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE LEASING OF TRUST PROPERTY AT CHEROKEE CASINO CATOOSA
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;  
 
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation, through Cherokee Nation Enterprises, LLC, is including in the expansion of the Cherokee Casino Catoosa a portion of the building designed to be Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill Restaurant and a portion of the building designed to Meig's Jewelry.  The proposed Business Lease shall be applicable only to the portion of the building housing Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill Restaurant and to the portion of the building housing Meig's Jewelry located on the following described property in Rogers County, Oklahoma:
      
Port Place, a subdivision in Section 36, Township 20 North, Range 14 East, I.B.&M., Rogers County, State of Oklahoma, according to the recorded plat thereof;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation desires to enter into these leases for operation of a Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill Restaurant and for operation of Meig's Jewelry in the Cherokee Casino at Catoosa.
 
      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chadwick Smith, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to enter into the above described Business Leases in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affair policy and procedure for the leasing of land owned by United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation.
