A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE RENOMINATION OF MIKE CRAWLEY AS A BOARD MEMBER OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TRUST AUTHORITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Economic Development Trust Authority Board of Directors was created and authorized by Legislative Act 36-89; and

WHEREAS, the appointment of the Board of Directors in Legislative Act 36-89 was nullified by JAT 97-01; and

WHEREAS, the appointment of members of the Board, replacing that portion of #36-89 previously addressing the appointment of said Board members, is provided for in Legislative Act 4-02; and

WHEREAS, the term of office of Mike Crawley expired July 15, 2006 and has been selected to be renominated by the Principal Chief; and

WHEREAS, Mike Crawley is duly qualified to fill this vacancy pursuant to the laws of the Cherokee Nation.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Mike Crawley is hereby confirmed as a Board Member of the Cherokee Nation Economic Development Trust Authority Board of Directors for the term of three (3) years from July 2006 until July 2009.
