Title

A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF CALLIE MARIE CATCHER AS TREASURER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Treasurer is authorized in Article VII Section 12 of the Constitution of the Cherokee Nation;

WHEREAS, according to the Constitution, the Treasurer shall be appointed by the Principal Chief and confirmed by the Council of the Cherokee Nation;

WHEREAS, the Principal Chief has appointed Callie Marie Catcher to the Office of Treasurer, to fulfill the duties of Treasurer as articulated in the Constitution;

WHEREAS, Callie Marie Catcher is duly qualified to fill this position.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Callie Marie Catcher is hereby confirmed as Treasurer of the Cherokee Nation, to fulfill the duties of Treasurer as specified in Article X of the Constitution of the Cherokee Nation for a term beginning August 14, 2007 and ending August 14, 2011.
