A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHEROKEE NATION ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS (CNEP) TO DONATE ONE XRF TO THE EASTERN BAND OF CHEROKEE INDIANS (EBCI) IN NORTH CAROLINA

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America, and a brotherhood with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Environmental Programs has a XRF which has been replaced by an updated unit and is no longer needed;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Environmental Programs has limited space to store unused equipment;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Environmental Programs has an ongoing relationship with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI);

WHEREAS, the EBCI staff has experience operating a XRF and can make use of the equipment.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council authorizes Cherokee Nation Environmental Programs to donate an XRF to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI).
