A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE REAPPOINTMENT OF LYNDON EMBERTON AS BOARD MEMBER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION SEQUOYAH HIGH SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education was established by Cherokee Nation Resolution No. 72-86 and amended by Cherokee Nation Resolution 10-17 and codified under LA 45-21 (“the Code”); and,
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation is authorized to appoint two (2) members of the Board pursuant to the rules of the Sequoyah High School Board of Education and adopted Code, subject to confirmation by majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation; and,
WHEREAS, Lyndon Emberton is duly qualified to fill this position on the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education, seat four (4), and has been selected by the Principal Chief.
WHEREAS, Lyndon Emberton is hereby nominated for reappointment to fill this position on the Sequoyah High School Board of Education.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Lyndon Emberton is hereby appointed and confirmed as a Board Member of the Cherokee Nation Sequoyah High School Board of Education, for a term of three (3) years, commencing March 2026 and ending March 31, 2029.
