A RESOLUTON AUTHORIZING CHEROKEE NATION'S APPLICATION FOR FULL MEMBERSHIP INTO THE INTERTRIBAL ARGICULTURE COUNCIL
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government-to-government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation engages in numerous agricultural endeavors and is desirous of expanding activities within this field for the betterment of the Cherokee Nation and its Citizens;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation deems membership in the InterTribal Agriculture Council (IAC) a necessary step in the development of the required expertise and relationships needed for successful promotion and use of Cherokee Nation Resources;

WHEREAS, the IAC has extended an offer of consideration for full membership unto the Cherokee Nation;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Office of the Principal Chief is authorized to submit an application for membership consideration of the Cherokee Nation into the InterTribal Agriculture Council (IAC) for the purposes of becoming a full, official, and voting member of the IAC and to facilitate the development of technical expertise and professional/business relationships in the field of Agriculture and Land Use.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that G. V. Gulager is authorized to act/vote on behalf of the Cherokee Nation as required to ensure that the Tribe's interests and positions are represented;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Bruce Davis shall be the alternate delegate and may act in the absence of the delegate; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that dues payable to the InterTribal Agriculture Council shall be paid as they come due and will be paid out of an appropriate Natural Resources budget until such time as this resolution is amended or rescinded;...
