A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF LAND IN TRUST - SALINA 31.7 ACRES
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation acquired property in Mayes County, Oklahoma containing 31.7 acres. The property is on the north side of Salina, adjacent to the east and to the south of the former A-Mo Health Clinic, a 9.78 acre tract. The 9.78 acres is titled United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation, the deed was filed of record on July 24, 2014. The Mayes County property adjacent to the former A-Mo Health Clinic is a 31.7 acre property further described as follows:
Indian Meridian, Mayes County, Oklahoma,
Township 21 North, Range 20 East,
Section 14 A tract of land containing 2.77 acres, more or less, located in the NW4 SW4, more particularly described as follows:
COMMENCING at the Northeast corner of NW4 SW4;
THENCE, S 88?41'56" W along the North line of the NW4 SW4 a distance of 564.71 feet;
THENCE, S 06?58'02" W a distance of 210.37 feet;
THENCE, N 88?41'56" E a distance of 596.55 feet to a point on the East line of the NW4 SW4;
THENCE, N 01?44'16" W a distance of 208.19 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING;
AND
S2 SE4 NW4;
AND
North 352.79 feet of the East 1111.30 feet of NE4 SW4.
Containing 31.7 acres, more or less. Surface Only.
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation desires to transfer fee title of the above described tracts of land to United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation under the provisions of Title 25 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
