A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF THE HEATH SERVICES MOBILE UNIT TO CHEROKEE COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Heath Services greatly expanded the delivery of health care services and programs in several Cherokee communities with the Mobile Unit and resulted in the establishment of two full-time sites, and a replacement facility; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Heath Services in no longer in need of the Mobile Unit and its donation to a worthy organization would be beneficial to the Cherokee Nation; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee County Emergency Management has expressed a desire and need for said Mobile Unit to create a emergency management mobile communication command center; and,
WHEREAS the Cherokee County Emergency Management group has agreed that the mobile command center will respond to emergencies, as called upon, within the jurisdiction of the Cherokee Nation; and,
 
WHEREAS, this Emergency Management mobile command center will be a beneficial resource for all Cherokee Citizens through out the Cherokee Nation.
      
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council authorizes the donation of the Cherokee Nation Health Services Mobile Unit to Cherokee County Emergency Management to be converted to an emergency management mobile communication command center that will be able to respond to emergencies.
