A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF LAND IN TRUST - WILL ROGERS HEALTH CENTER
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation has acquired a property in South Nowata Cherokee Nation I.T., Nowata County, Oklahoma. The property is known as the Will Rogers Health Center. The property serves as a health facility, food distribution center and community gathering place. The property is further described as follows:
Indian Meridian, Oklahoma
Township 25 North, Range 16 East,
Section 6, Part of a parcel of land situated in the west half northeast quarter (W1/2 NE1/4), platted as South Nowata Cherokee Nation, I. T. (Indian Territory), platted for The New State Townsite Company, August 4, 1906 by Chas. W. Mason, Nowata, I.T., surveyor C. F. Babb, filed October 11, 1907 by J Morehouse Deputy Cherokee Office Recorder and being more particularly described as follows:
Lots 1, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 & 32 in Block 1;
West 10 feet of Lots 2-16 and the North 5 feet of Lots 2 & 31, and the South 3 feet of Lots 12 & 21, in Block 1;
Lots 1-6 & Lots 17-32 in Block 4;
Lots 2-17 in Block 23;
Lot 17 in Block 24;
Blocks 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 & 22.

WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation desires to transfer fee title to United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation under the provisions of Title 25 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of Cherokee Nation, Bill John Baker, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to request the Secretary of the Interior to place said tracts of land in Trust for Cherokee Nation in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affairs poli...
