A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE  CHEROKEE NATION HOUSING REHAB PROGRAM TO DONATE SURPLUS REAL ESTATE INCLUDING A REPLACEMENT HOME TO SUSAN L. BROWN IN SEQUOYAH COUNTY
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Housing Rehab Program has determined the applicant's home site as unsuitable for new home construction purposes;   
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation owns the following real estate located in Sequoyah County which includes a newly constructed replacement home classified as surplus property:
 
Lots 10 and 11 in Block 6 in the Jimmie Rogers Addition #3, To the Town of Vian, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, less public road rights of way and subject to easements of record;
 
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article X Section 7 of the Constitution of the Cherokee Nation: The Cherokee Nation shall not make any donations by gift, bonus, or otherwise to any individual, firm, company, corporation, or association without the approval of the Council;
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION; the Tribal Council hereby approves the donation of the above described property and authorizes the Cherokee Nation Housing Rehab program to prepare the necessary documents for the donation of the property set out above, located in Sequoyah County to Susan L. Brown.
