A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHEROKEE NATION TO DONATE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT TO W.W. HASTINGS HOSPITAL
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Health Services has, and will be acquiring additional computer equipment to be able to enhance the W.W. Hastings and Cherokee Nation shared health care information system;
WHEREAS, the computer equipment items are identified as servers, network equipment, and software to support the Database Consolidation, EHR, and VistA Imaging implementation for W.W. Hastings and Cherokee Nation;
WHEREAS, W.W. Hastings Hospital serves the Cherokee people, has an existing need for this equipment, has the technical ability to use and maintain the equipment, and is able to immediately utilize this equipment for the shared benefit of the Cherokee Nation health services clinics operations and the W.W. Hastings Hospital operations, and for the further benefit of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the computer equipment needs to be housed in the W.W. Hastings computer data center to adequately support a merged RPMS database, VistA Imaging system, and Electronic Health Record for the inpatient unit at W.W. Hasting;
WHEREAS, the Indian Health Service has determined that the Indian Health Service must hold title to the computer equipment that has been previously purchased by Cherokee Nation and placed in the W.W. Hastings computer data center and must also hold title to the additional computer equipment that will be purchased by Cherokee Nation and placed in the W.W. Hastings computer data center.
