A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF A LEASE BETWEEN CHEROKEE NATION AND THE VICTORY CHEROKEE ORGANIZATION, INC., TO CONSTRUCT A COMMUNITY BUILDING ON TRIBAL FEE PROPERTY

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation has acquired the Victory Cemetery in Collinsville, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, containing 3.47 fee acres, more or less, and the Victory Cherokee Organization, Inc., has submitted a proposal for a Lease to construct a community building on one acre for $1.00 a year for fifty years.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council, in order to improve efficiency, grants the Cherokee Nation Real Estate Services Department authority to lease the Victory Cemetery property at Collinsville for one dollar a year for fifty years, appraisal and bond waived, and the proper documents be prepared to the Victory Cherokee Organization, Inc., and that Chad Smith, Principal Chief (or his designee) be authorized to negotiate and execute all official matters in this regard.
