A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 23-90 RE-NAMING THE SAM HIDER COMMUNITY CLINIC TO THE SAM HIDER HEALTH CENTER

Body

WHEREAS,      the Cherokee Nation, since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee People; and

WHEREAS,       the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and

WHEREAS,       on March 10, 1990, the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council re-named the Jay Clinic to the Sam Hider Community Clinic; and

WHEREAS,       Sam Hider was an individual with great respect in the Jay community and was instrumental in the development of the Jay Clinic; and

WHEREAS,       re-naming the Sam Hider Community Clinic to the Sam Hider Health Center would be more descriptive of the universal health care provided at this clinic.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CHEROKEE NATION that the Sam Hider Community Clinic is hereby re-named the Sam Hider Health Center.
