A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A RESTAURANT LEASE ON TRUST LAND AT THE COMPLEX IN CHEROKEE COUNTY

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the property at the complex containing the motel and restaurant is now in trust and a lease is required for restaurant purposes for a ten year term to be negotiated.  A new lease, appraisal and an environmental are required for submission to the Regional office;.

      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Chadwick Smith, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to enter into the above described Business Lease in accordance with the Bureau of Indian Affair policy and procedure for the leasing of the land owned by the United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation.
