A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TOWN OF OCHELATA ANNEX LANDS IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, OKLAHOMA
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation requests a tract of land located in Washington County be annexed to the Town of Ochelata, Washington County, Oklahoma. The tract of land is described as follows:
Government Lots 2, 3 and 4 and the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (SE/4 NW/4) and the East Half of the Southwest Quarter (E/2 SW/4) in Section 31, T25N, R13E, Washington County, Oklahoma.
WHEREAS, the above described tract of land is proposed to be annexed to the Town of Ochelata, Washington County, Oklahoma;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief, Bill John Baker, and/or his authority designee (s) be authorized to request annexation as above described.
