A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHEROKEE NATION TO LEASE TRUST LAND TO LINDMARK OUTDOOR ADVERTISING

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the unit in Rogers County, called Catoosa Truck Plaza, has recently gone into trust and Lindmark Outdoor Advertising is the Lessee on this unit. A new lease, an appraisal, an environmental and/or a service line agreement are required for submission to the Regional office. Lindmark will continue to pay $7000.00 per year and to continue the lease term which will expire April 30, 2025. The unit is a seven acre tract but Lindmark will lease 0.057 acres more or less.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council, in order to improve efficiency, authorizes a lease on this trust unit to Lindmark Outdoor Advertising for the next sixteen years, and that Chad Smith, Principal Chief (or his designee) be authorized to negotiate and execute all official matters in this regard.
