A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF LAND IN TRUST - SEQUOYAH SCHOOLS LANDS
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation requests the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of the Interior, United States of America, transfer the following described land to United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation:
All of Lot 5; and Lot 6 except the West 1120 feet thereof, in Section 19, Township 16 North, Range 22 East, Indian Meridian, Oklahoma, according to the 2007 U. S. Government survey thereof.
SE1/4SW1/4; NW1/4SE1/4; N1/2SW1/4SE1/4; All of Lot 3; All of Lot 5; All of Lot 6; and Lot 7 except that portion of the SW1/4SW1/4SW1/4 lying West of the blacktop road, in Section 20, Township 16 North, Range 22 East, Indian Meridian, Oklahoma, according to the 2007 U. S. Government survey thereof.
SW1/4NW1/4NW1/4, in Section 29, Township 16 North, Range 22 East, Indian Meridian, Oklahoma, according to the 2007 U. S. Government survey thereof.
Also the following aliquot part In Section 30, previously taken USA in Trust for Cherokee Nation, as published in the Federal Register Notice dated 12-03-1985:
NW1/4SE1/4SE1/4, in Section 30, Township 16 North, Range 22 East, Indian Meridian, Oklahoma, according to the 2007 U. S. Government survey thereof.
To clarify any ambiguities of prior Resolution No.’s 60-82, 59-88 and 59-92, the transfer of the above described real properties along with the transfer described in Federal Register Notice dated 12-03-1985, are encompassed in the following legal descriptions:
Lot 5; Lot 6; and S1/2SE1/4 in Section 19, Township 16 North, Range 22 East, Indian Meridian, Oklahoma, according to the 2007 U. S. Government survey thereof.
