A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATIONS TO THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION FOR TRIBAL TRANSPORTATION FACILITY BRIDGE PROGRAM FUNDING
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people; and
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) provides funding to repair or replace bridges on the Tribal Transportation Facility Inventory; and
WHEREAS, Title 23 United States Code, as amended by the IIJA, specifies the eligibility requirements for Tribal Transportation Facility Bridge Program (TTFBP) funding; and
WHEREAS, the following bridges are located on Cherokee Nation’s Tribal Transportation Facility Inventory; they are either a part of or eligible for the National Bridge Inventory, and are herein identified as engineering and construction projects for the TTFBP:
