A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHEROKEE NATION TO LEASE TRUST LAND TO ROGERS COUNTY CHEROKEE ASSOCIATION
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
 
WHEREAS, the Rogers County Cherokee Association (RCCA) has a Land Assignment on 8.84 acres in Tiawah, Rogers County, Oklahoma at the present time with a community building RCCA built;
 
WHEREAS, RCCA established the RCCA Community Building and Grounds on land the organization purchased using Cherokee Nation COTTA grants, cash and in-kind donations from local community members as well as thousands of volunteer hours;
 
WHEREAS, RCCA donated the RCCA Community Building and Grounds to the Cherokee Nation to be put in Federal Trust Status by the Tribe for RCCA's sole use and purpose as the RCCA Community Building and Grounds;
 
WHEREAS, RCCA wishes to continue leasing the property for twenty-five (25) years beginning in 2013 for $1.00 per year for its sole purpose;
 
WHEREAS, Real Estate Services requests that appraisal be waived and according to regulations contained in 25 CFR, the bond be waived by tribal resolution.
 
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief, Bill John Baker, and/or his authority designee (s) be authorized to enter into the above described leasing, with appraisal and bond waived, in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affairs policy and procedure for the leasing of land owned by United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation.
