A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE RENOMINATION OF ROBERT JENKINS AS A COMMISSIONER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION TAX COMMISSION

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Tax Commission Board of Commissioners was created and authorized by Title 68 § 11 of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated;

WHEREAS, Robert Jenkins term expires August, 2007 as a Commissioner of the Cherokee Nation Tax Commission and is nominated for reappointment as authorized by Title 68 §11 of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated;

WHEREAS, Robert Jenkins is duly qualified to fill this vacancy pursuant to the laws of the Cherokee Nation.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Robert Jenkins is hereby confirmed as a Commissioner of the Cherokee Nation Tax Commission for the term of three years effective August 2007 through August 2010 as authorized by Legislative Act 1-90, the Act of February 10, 1990.
