A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE REAPPOINTMENT OF EDWARD H. FITE III AS A COMMISSIONER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COMMISSION
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Commission was created and authorized by Title 27 Section 101 of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated (CNCA); and,
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to appoint members of the Environmental Protection Commission, subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation; and
WHEREAS, Edward H. Fite III is duly qualified and should be reappointed as a Commissioner of the Environmental Protection Commission, pursuant to the laws of the Cherokee Nation.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Council of the Cherokee Nation hereby confirms Edward H. Fite as a Commissioner of the Cherokee Nation Environmental Protection Commission, for a term of four (4) years, beginning March 2026 and expiring March 31, 2030 as authorized by Title 27 Section 101 (B) of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated (CNCA).
