A JOINT COUNCIL RESOLUTION REQUESTING FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION TO RED CLAY STATE PARK

WHEREAS the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the Cherokee Nation recognize and respect the importance of the Red Clay Council Grounds: and
WHEREAS, the Cherokee people appreciate and honor the State of Tennessee and state employees who work to preserve and maintain the Red Clay State Park on behalf of the Cherokee people; and
WHEREAS, the Red Clay State Park requires ongoing construction and maintenance projects to sustain the aesthetics of the park and requires supplemental funding for these projects; and
WHEREAS, the Red Clay State Park staff hold regular events that educate local visitors and residents about Cherokee history and culture. and it requires supplemental funding to complete these projects; and
WHEREAS, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the Cherokee Nation wish to support the programs and projects implemented at the Red Clay State Park.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Joint Council assembled. at which a quorum is present. that the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the Cherokee Nation hereby commit to researching and considering funds to support the Red Clay State Park and the projects that are implemented on these Park grounds on behalf of the Cherokee people.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the
Cherokee Nation will carry out the intent of this resolution.
