BE IT ENACTED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION:
Section 1. Title and Codification.
This Act shall be known as the “Emergency Assistance program and Community Support Project Amendment of 2007”, and shall be codified as Title _____, Section ______ of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated.
Section 2. Purpose.
The purpose of this Act is to amend the Emergency Assistance program and community support projects requiring new accountability requirements.

Section 4. Definitions.
“Accounting” for the purpose of this Act means to keep a record of expenditures, including receipts, made by the person or organization receiving funds in accordance with this Act.
Section 5. Substantive Provisions of Law; Repeals, Additions and Amendments.
Amend Section A, Subsection 2, which shall read as follows:
Community support projects, are authorized, provided that the Council of the Cherokee Nation authorizes such projects by enactment action of the Council in any regular or specially called Council meeting or committee meetings.
And
Amend Section A Subsection G, which shall read as follows:
Appropriations. The Council of the Cherokee Nation may appropriate such sums as may be necessary to carry out the Emergency Assistance program requirements of this Act. Organizations and Individuals receiving funds in accordance with this Act shall provide a written accounting including receipts, if available, to the Treasurer of the Cherokee Nation with ninety (90) days of receipts to insure that the funds are expended for the purpose for which they were given.
Section 6. Provisions as cumulative.
The provisions of this act shall cumulative to existing law.
