A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REVISION OF THE 2008 INDIAN HOUSING PLAN
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has received ARRA Funds through the Department of Housing and Urban Development;
 
WHEREAS, the Delaware Tribe receives their housing funds through the Cherokee Nation;
 
WHEREAS, the Delaware was previously awarded $215,000 in ARRA funding from the Cherokee Nation with a deadline to spend the funding by April 8, 2012;
 
WHEREAS, in order to assist the Delaware Tribe, the Cherokee Nation will spend the previously awarded $215,000;
 
WHEREAS, in exchange for the $215,000 in ARRA Funds previously awarded to the Delaware Tribe, an equal amount will be awarded to the Delaware Tribe in addition to their normal amount of funding from the FY 2012 Indian Housing Block Grant.
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council hereby approves this resolution which revises the 2008 Indian Housing Plan which gives Housing Services spending authority for $215,000 in ARRA funds previously designated for the Delaware Tribe contingent upon a fully executed amendmemt to the Subrecipient Agreement between the Cheorkee Nation and Delaware Tribe of Oklahoma dated October 6, 2011;
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Delaware Tribe will receive $215,000 in funding in addition to their normal funding from the FY 2012 Indian Housing Block Grant Funds.
