A RESOLUTION HONORING KENDALL ALEXANDER PRATHER FOR RECEIVING THE LEVEL OF EAGLE SCOUT FROM THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self government on behalf of the Cherokee people; and
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and
 
WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America is an honored institution which teaches young men integrity, patriotism, self-reliance, honesty and respect; and
 
WHEREAS, Kendall Alexander Prather, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, has received the highest honor the Boy Scouts of America can bestow on a member, which is the status of Eagle Scout; and
 
WHEREAS, Kendall Alexander Prather is the son of John, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, and Sherry Prather and grandson of Cherokee Nation citizens, Johnny Prather and the late Sue Prather; and
WHEREAS, the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout takes years of dedication and hard work which shows the person receiving such honor is a valued citizen to his community including the Cherokee Nation; and
 
WHEREAS, it is beneficial to the Cherokee Nation to recognize Tribal Citizens who achieve great honors such as the honor earned by Kendall Alexander Prather.
 
      BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council hereby recognizes Kendall Alexander Prather, a Cherokee Nation Citizen, for receiving the status of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America Troop 497 chartered by Baylor University in the Indian Nations District of the Longhorn Council
