A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE NOMINATION OF LYNNA CARSON AS A BOARD MEMBER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Commission was created and authorized by Title 63 Section 101 of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated (CNCA);
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to appoint the members of the Commission subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation;
WHEREAS, Lynna Carson is duly qualified to fill this board position pursuant to Title 63 Section 101 (A) CNCA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Lynna Carson is hereby confirmed as a Commissioner of the Cherokee Nation Environmental Protection Commission for a term from May 2012 to May 2016.
