A RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH COUNCIL WARRIOR AWARDS TO RECOGNIZE CURRENT AND PAST COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR THEIR MILITARY SERVICE
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is very proud and supportive of the military service of their citizens and their tribal leaders;
WHEREAS, the Council of the Cherokee Nation desires to honor the current members of their body as well as past members of their body who have given military service;
WHEREAS, the Council of the Cherokee Nation wants to establish Council Warrior Awards to recognize this military service;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Council of the Cherokee Nation hereby establishes the Council Warrior Awards to recognize all past and current members of the Council of the Cherokee Nation for their military service.
