A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING CHEROKEE CITIZEN MARKWAYNE MULLIN
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America; and,
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation proudly supports their citizens as they seek to serve their communities; and,  
 
WHEREAS, Cherokee Citizen, Markwayne Mullin, was successful in his election to serve as the Congressman for Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District and will be sworn in on January 3, 2013; and
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Council of the Cherokee Nation hereby congratulates and commends Cherokee Citizen Markwayne Mullin as he begins his first term to serve as the Congressman for Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District and wishes him great success.
