A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE REAPPOINTMENT OF EDWARD H. FITE AS A COMMISSIONER OF CHEROKEE NATION ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COMMISSION
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Commission was created and authorized by Title 63 Section 101 of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated (CNCA);
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to appoint the members of the Commission subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation; and
WHEREAS, Edward H. Fite III is duly qualified to be reappointed as a Commissioner, pursuant to the laws of the Cherokee Nation;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Edward H. Fite is hereby reappointed as a Commissioner of Cherokee Nation Environmental Protection Commission, for the term of October 1, 2013 expiring September 30, 2017, as authorized by Title 63 Section 101 (A) of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated (CNCA).
