A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE REAPOINTMENT OF TONYA ROZELL AS A BOARD MEMBER OF CHEROKEE NATION FOUNDATION

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has formed a nonprofit corporation for the promotion of education members of the Cherokee Nation, to provide educational assistance to members of the Cherokee Nation and to promote and preserve the language, culture and history of the Nation;
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to select the members of the Board of Directors subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation; and
WHEREAS, Tonya Rozell is duly qualified to fill this board position, Seat 7 (seven) pursuant to the Bylaws of the Cherokee Nation Foundation;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Tonya Rozell is hereby confirmed as a Board Member of Cherokee Nation Foundation, Seat 7 (seven) for the term March 11, 2014 expiring March 31, 2018, as authorized by the Bylaws of Cherokee Nation Foundation.
