A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF JENNIFER D. GOINS AS A COMMISSIONER OF THE CHEROKEE NATION GAMING COMMISSION
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission was created and codified under Title IV of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated;
WHEREAS, the Principal Chief is authorized to select the members of the Commission subject to majority vote of the Council of the Cherokee Nation;
WHEREAS, there is a seat on the Commission vacant; and
WHEREAS, the term of office of this Commissioner is (3) three years; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer D. Goins is duly qualified to be appointed as Commissioner pursuant to Section 12, Chapter 2, Title IV of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Jennifer D. Goins is hereby confirmed appointed as a Commissioner of the Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission, for the term of (3) years as authorized by Section 12, Chapter 2, Title IV of the Cherokee Nation Code Annotated, from June 16, 2014 until June 30, 2017.
