A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHEROKEE NATION MARSHAL SERVICE TO DONATE SURPLUS EXERCISE EQUIPMENT TO THE CLAREMORE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CHEROKEE NATION SENIOR CENTER

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, it is always beneficial for the Cherokee Nation to partner and support healthy initiatives for the elders within the Nation's jurisdiction for the benefit of our citizens; and,
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service has accrued a surplus treadmill; and,
WHEREAS, the treadmill is identified as a PRECOR precision low-impact treadmill serial # A925H12080040 and,
WHEREAS, the donation of this treadmill will augment the health and fitness of Cherokee elders and enhance the relationship between the Cherokee Nation and that agency for the benefit of our Cherokee Communities; and therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council hereby authorizes the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service to donate the following surplus exercise equipment: PRECOR precision low-impact treadmill serial # A925H12080040 to Claremore Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation Elder Center within the Cherokee Nation which will serve the Cherokee communities.
