A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BUSINESS LEASE ON TRUST LAND IN ROGERS COUNTY, OKLAHOMA
Body
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
 
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
 
WHEREAS, a certain tract of property held USA in trust for the Cherokee Nation is located  adjacent to the intersection of Interstate 44 and 161st East Avenue, Rogers County, Oklahoma, more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
 
A tract of land located in the SE of Section 34, Township 20 North, Range 14 East, described as follows:  Beginning at the SE corner of Section 34, thence N 00°00'00" East, a distance of 264 feet and N 90° 00' 00" West, a distance of 32 feet to Point of Beginning, thence S 85°00'00" West, a distance of 222 feet, thence N 00°00'00" West, a distance of 201 feet, thence N 90°00'00" East, a distance of 219 feet, thence S 00°00'00" East, a distance of 162 feet to the Point of Beginning, containing 1.2 acres, more or less, all in Rogers County, Oklahoma.
WHEREAS, Cherokee Nation Real Estate Services proposes to lease 1.2 acres to TNT Fireworks for four weeks (during the months of June and July) out of the calendar year, for five years at the rate of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) per year beginning June 2015, all in accordance with 25 CFR 162.
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Bill John Baker, and/or his authorized designee(s) be authorized to enter into the above described Business Lease in accordance with Bureau of Indian Affairs policy and procedure for the leasing of land owned by United States of America in Trust for Cherokee Nation.
