A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHEROKEE NATION TO DONATE AIR CONDITIONING UNITS TO THE ADAIR COUNTY FAIR BOARD IN ADAIR COUNTY, OKLAHOMA

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government on behalf of the Cherokee people;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has the following air conditioning units that has been deemed as surplus:

WHEREAS, the Adair County Fair Board located within the Cherokee Nation jurisdictional boundaries in Adair County is in need of air conditioning units;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Article X Section 7 of the Constitution of the Cherokee Nation: The Cherokee Nation shall not make any donations by gift, bonus, or otherwise to any individual, firm, company, corporation, or association without the approval of the Council;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION; the Tribal Council hereby approves the donation of the above described surplus and authorizes the Cherokee Nation to donate the above item to the Adair County Fair Board located in Adair County.
