A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS, EASTERN OKLAHOMA REGION FOR WILDLAND AND FIRE MANAGEMENT

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;
WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;
WHEREAS, the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Eastern Oklahoma Region wishes to enter into an agreement with Cherokee Nation for Wildland Fire Management;
WHEREAS, Career Services has the experience and staff to administer a Wildland Fire Management Program.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that a Cooperative Agreement with the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs Eastern Region be executed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that Cherokee Nation Career Services will administer the Wildland Fire Management Program.
