A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF SURPLUS EQUIPMENT TO DELAWARE CO. RURAL WATER DISTRICT #11

Body

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation since time immemorial has exercised the sovereign rights of self-government in behalf of the Cherokee people;

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation is a federally recognized Indian Nation with a historic and continual government to government relationship with the United States of America;

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation desires to assist in providing a source of clean drinking water to our communities;

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation assisted Delaware Co. Rural Water District # 11 with the construction of the Leach Waterline project.

 

WHEREAS, the Cherokee Nation has miscellaneous parts and materials remaining from that project that cannot be used elsewhere namely:

                                          56 - 10” X 1” pipe saddles

                                          56 - 5/8” meter loops

                                          56 - 1” corporation stops

                                          12 - 3” X 1” pipe saddles

 

 

WHEREAS, Delaware Co. Rural Water District # 11 is a non-profit rural water district that provides water to the Citizens of Leach, Twin Oaks and Oaks OK,

 

WHEREAS, Delaware Co. Rural Water District # 11 can utilize these parts and materials for installation of water meters for Cherokee citizens

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHEROKEE NATION, that the Tribal Council hereby authorizes Cherokee Nation Engineering and Sanitation Facilities Construction Program to donate the surplus equipment to Delaware Co. Rural Water District # 11, namely:

                                          56 - 10” X 1” pipe saddles

                                          56 - 5/8” meter loops

                                          56 - 1” corporation stops

                                          12 - 3” X 1” pipe saddles
